Third Annual Cape Clear Lavender Festival | June 27–28, 2026

Growing a Tradition:

Join Us for the Third Annual Cape Clear Lavender Festival

June 27–28, 2026

What began as a bold community vision has blossomed into one of West Cork’s most distinctive summer celebrations.

The Third Annual Cape Clear Lavender Festival (Féile Lus Liath Chléire) returns to the beautiful shores of Cape Clear Island on Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th, 2026, inviting visitors once again to experience a weekend where nature, craftsmanship, music, food, and community come together in one unforgettable setting.

Nestled on Ireland’s southernmost inhabited island, the festival celebrates the remarkable story of Cape Clear’s thriving lavender project—a community-led agritourism initiative that has transformed fields of lavender into locally crafted products proudly bearing the Cape Grown – Cape Made name.

Now entering its third year, the festival continues to grow while staying true to what makes it so special: authentic island hospitality, locally made goods, and experiences that connect visitors with the people and traditions of Cape Clear.

A Weekend Filled with Discovery

Across both Saturday and Sunday, festival-goers can enjoy an exciting programme of activities for all ages, including:

  • Community Market featuring locally crafted lavender products, artisan foods, honey, candles, knitwear, jewellery, arts and crafts, and wellness products
  • Live lavender de-budding demonstrations and educational talks about growing and harvesting lavender on the island
  • Lavender gin sampling and immersive virtual reality tours at The Danzig
  • Chair massages and wellness experiences overlooking North Harbour
  • Honeybee Observation Hive with opportunities to learn about pollinators
  • Goat milking demonstrations at Cléire Goat Farm
  • Family-friendly activities including tractor tours around the island
  • Kayaking adventures in South Harbour (pre-booking required)
  • Traditional Irish music, community gatherings, and the ever-popular Lavender Quiz Night

Visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy lavender-inspired food and drinks throughout the island, including offerings from local cafés, restaurants, the Cape Clear Distillery, West Cork Brewing Co., and a wonderful selection of homemade treats from local producers.

Experience Cape Clear

The Lavender Festival is more than a weekend event—it’s an opportunity to experience the unique culture and beauty of Cape Clear Island.

Spend the day wandering the Community Market, take in spectacular coastal views, meet local growers and makers, explore the island’s walking trails, or simply relax with live music overlooking the harbour. Whether you’re arriving for a day trip or making a weekend escape of it, Cape Clear offers an experience unlike anywhere else in Ireland.

Every purchase made at the market and every activity attended directly supports local producers, community organisations, and the continued growth of this unique island initiative.

Plan Your Visit

Festival activities take place throughout North Harbour, South Harbour, and participating businesses across the island on Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th.
